Ripper Plow

Ripper Plow The Bigham Brothers Ripper Plow deep tills your garden or other plot. The Ripper shatters subsoil compaction to enhance root growth and increase water holding capacity. In addition, the shanks may also be spaced to subsoil between rows of a growing crop to shatter compaction from tractor tires. The Ripper Plows come in two sizes. The 4' plow is set up with 3 shanks on 18" centers. The 5' plow is equipped with 5 shanks. The shanks are equipped with a reversible hard faced point. The heavy 4 x 4" frame insures durability. The two-piece clamp is economical and virtually indestructible.

Standard Features:

Tool Bars are two bar frames with mast construction from 4 x 4 x 1/4" tube. Lower bars are available with 4', 5', and 6' lengths. Lower bars are on 20" centers. (front to back)
Hitch: Welded plates with bolt-on pins for Cat. I or II three point.
Shanks: 1-1/4 x 2; 26" clearance- heat treated for long wear.
Points: 5/8 x 2 x 16" hardfaced for long life (reversible)
Clamps: Two piece Ductile Iron; 7/8 pull-bolt and two 3/4" back bolts. See page B-8 for parts diagram

RIPPER PLOWS INCLUDE: 4 x 4" TOOL BAR, HITCH, AND CORRESPONDING NUMBERS OF SHANKS, CLAMPS, AND HARDFACED POINTS. GAUGE WHEELS ARE NOT INCLUDED BUT ARE RECOMMENDED FOR POSITIVE DEPTH CONTROL.

Note: Horsepower requirements are 20-30 H.P. per shank depending on soil type, condition and operating depth.
