The Bigham Brothers VersaTillTM is a
one-pass primary tillage tool that efficiently manages residue,
loosens soil and finishes the field surface. Bigham Brothers
introduces a new alternative to combination and conservation
tillage tools. The VersaTillTM has equipment features that you may select in
order to best fit your specific tillage, residue and seedbed or
field finish requirements. The "Versa" part of the tool
name stands for versatility. That is the key
word for this combination tillage tool, in that any component
from front to rear may be equipped as you like, not as an
equipment manufacturer dictates.
VersaTillTM offers unlimited flexibility to apply precision tillage to your crop fields with any type of subsoiler shank that appeals to you. Tillage shank options may include angled leg shanks. Paratill® or TerraTill® legs will engage the soil without bringing up clods or burying residue. No other combination tool offers angled legs as a tillage option. Parabolic or MegaTill straight shank tillage tools may be equipped on the center tillage frame. Tools may be arranged on the frame so that shanks are spaced at any width to complement your specific tillage needs.
Front residue treatment attachments may include discs, choppers or coulters. Rear finishing attachments can be configured as baskets with spiral blades, spiked rollers, smooth rollers, choppers or treaders.
The Bigham Brothers VersaTillTM can combine field operations to save you time, fuel and wear and tear on your tractor and machinery. It will reduce traffic over your fields and save you money!
| Rear
finishing tool may be raised or lowered on the go from
the tractor cab. Hydraulic cylinder is protected with
spring coupling. Any type of rear tool is available. soil
may be pulverized or left in a rough condition. Modular tillage frame will accommodate any shear bolt tillage tool. Attaching clamps spread load through two 4x7" frame tubes. Shanks may be placed on virtually any spacing. |
Pick
your tillage preference: Paratill: The original angled leg loosens the soil profile from shank to shank at depths up to 17" without bringing up clods or burying residue. TerraTill: Angled leg loosens a narrower zone of soil to maintain some firmness for field traffic. TerraTill may reduce horsepower requirements. Tillage may be performed while maintaining surface residue and eliminating clodding. Hydraulic lift wheels utilize 4x12" tie rod cylinders. Rockshaft wheel arm is constructed from 4x7x3/8" tube with open center for rockshaft bearing. High Capacity Eight Lug W80-8 Hubs and 12.5 Lx16" 12 Ply tires are substantial for any field or transport conditions. |
Front
residue attachments are independently height adjustable.
Two bar frame allows staggering of disc or coulter blades
for better trash and soil flow. Heavy carrier is constructed from 5x7x1/2 wall tube and is padded at frame joints. Additional plates distribute the load through the carrier frame, not the attaching bolts. Front cast clevis is rated for Category IV high horsepower tractors. |

| Parabolic
Ripper: Heavy shanks of traditional design will
penetrate subsoil to break up hardpans. Megatill Shanks: Straight shank subsoilers feature minimum horspower requirement. |
Notched Discs: Heavy 24" notched discs are frame mounted so spacing may be changed with residue treatment conditions. Standard disc gang attachment may be spaced so that blades cut soil and residue every 6-1/2". Outside blades are sized at 20" and 22" to feather the outside soil edge. | Spring
Loaded Swivel Coulters: Heavy coulters provide
up to 1200 pounds of residue slicing pressure. Combine
front coulters with an angled leg tillage tool for
maximum residue retention. Front Chopper: Chop stalks and mix them with soil. Herbicides or other chemicals may be indcorporated in the same pass. |
